This project involves the design of a +/- 6,000 SF (1) basement (2) story single family home with a +/- 1,900 SF (1) basement (1) story accessory dwelling unit. The homeowners wanted a design to accommodate both live-in and visiting grandparents for an intergenerational home. The accessory dwelling unit and main house are organized around a semi-enclosed courtyard, which provides a layer of privacy while creating an outdoor space that opens up to the large, rural property.
